Spotlight Vendor: Corsicana Bedding
Corsicana Bedding was founded in 1971, under the name Tipton Manufacturing, Inc. in Corsicana, Texas originally established to fulfill the demand of furniture and bedding for mobile home manufacturers. Now, 40 years later, They are still paving the way for the industry and have become one of the most solid bedding manufacturers in the nation. In 1974, they saw fit to move into a 24,000 square foot facility in Corsicana. And as times changed as they always seem to, Corsicana expanded services to include production for retail furniture and bedding stores (which just so happens to be when Quality Furniture became a close friend) By the end of 1978, the demand for their high quality mattresses and box springs was ever increasing. Following this trend, they changed their brand name to Corsicana Bedding, Inc. to reflect how much their growth and focus in this amazing industry had taken flight. In 1987, came an expansion in their sales area from a 150-mile radius to a multi-state region that included Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The Texas manufacturing plant spans over 144,000 square foot. It is an incredible, state of the art facility and fully capable of producing 4,000 pieces per day on two 10-hour shifts and houses computerized machinery, conveyors and a bar code tracking system. It is apparent that if they could find a way to do it themselves and extend savings to their wholesale costs they most definitely would.

Recognizing the significance transportation plays in limiting or shaping the avenues of growth, they began developing their own trucking operation. Keeping with tradition, they now own a fleet of trucks and trailers to serve their customers.

Expansion
In 1996 we opened a plant in Shelbyville, TN. After two years, the growth rate was so large that they immediately moved into a 96,000 sq. ft. facility. This facility also has state of the art equipment and a fleet of trucks to deliver product to customers. Now serving Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Missouri. Even now the plant has grown to a staggering 140,000 sq. ft.

4 Ways to Prevent Destroying Your New Living Room Furniture

After a lot of recent inquiries into how we take care of our fabric and leather products we decided to write up a little something for our Quality Family!

Here’s a few steps for keeping that new upholstered set of yours looking as gorgeous as when you bought it.

Bonded and leather should be cleaned every 4 to 6 months. Recliners
probably every 2 to 3 months due to the type of use it receives.  The
process of maintaining furniture is:

Clean:  use on both leather and bonded.  Cleaning is important because
of body oils that build up in the head and hands area. After a period of
time the the body oils will break down the finish and the color will not
longer be secure and will rub off – hence color loss.  When using the
cleaner you will pour it into the sponge and squeeze it to create a
foam.  The foam breaks the soil.  Wipe it off with a terry cloth towel.

Leather softener:  used only leather. Bonded does not need the softener.
After cleaning rub the softener into the leather with the cloth. The
purpose of the softener is to restore the collagen and protein back into
the fibers of the leather.  Leather is like our skin. As it ages it
begins to dry. The leather softener moisturizers the skin and keeps it
soft and supple.  This product is essential in areas at near the ocean.
Sea salt will dry the furniture out.  The softener will restore it the
someway it does in the tannery.

Protection cream: use on both leather and bonded.  The purpose of the
protection cream is to put a barrier between you and the finish on the
furniture.  The protection cream takes the friction of the wear and
tear. This should be applied often on recliners to also help keep the
body oils on the surface to be cleaned off during the cleaning process.
It helps protect the finish-and can help in area near the ocean. This
should be applied every month in ocean areas to remove the sea salt from
the surface on bonded furniture. Another thing to keep in mind is that the environment that you work in you inevitably bring home with you. So whether you work in a dust filled warehouse or at home in the yard, with any chemical product comes some residue that will eventually meet your favorite recliner.

The furniture should be cleaned entirely once a year.  During the year
the areas used the most should be cleaned more often.  Such as the arms,
seat and back cushions used on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, accidents do happen. Our recommendation has always been to seek out a reputable warranty company to prevent any unnecessary costs down the road. We use Montage Fabric Protection and have had 0 complaints.

Hello world!

    Good Morning Quality Family!

It is a beautiful Monday morning at your favorite furniture store and we’re pretty excited to be speaking with you through our new blog! You might be wondering how we came about the decision to enter the blogging realm, the best answer I can give you is that: You asked for it! Quality customers from all across the metro-plex asked us to start sharing some of the tips we were giving in store in a slightly more modern way. So, whether it be design tips as to why certain pieces of furniture last seemingly forever and nearly identical pieces break with a slight breeze or simple conversation over some great new product; you can come here to find it.

There will definitely be more to come so check back in if/when you can because we’re committed to bringing the same Quality service online, we’ve provided in store for these past years. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

-Jordan  Barrick
